Don't forget we're talking about the Latte, not Beige. There's a substantial difference.

But yes, the lighter it is the more it will visibly age. But aged black looks crap as well, and in my opinion the brand new black is too sombre. Tastes vary, but I think all black interior including black leather, as in earlier VWs and current Audis is like entering a tomb.

You're right. With black leather it just doesn't seem right and it's miserable. Something needs to break up the black a bit.

Go the leather - hot or cold it is my choice over cloth and IMO will last longer. Besides, what else do you use climate control for?

Yes, mine will be Latte - with the Blue Graphite paint will look great, a darkish paint colour with the leather a shade or two lighter than the Anthracite (which I like as well, but SWMBO chose the Latte).

1.5 weeks to go...maybe a bit less .....will post pics when i get my paws on it

I wouldn't have bought the GTI if black had been the only leather choice, and I don't think I would have adjusted to the tartan at all

I have leather in my MK4 and cloth in MK5.

Leather looks better in MK4's but I don't think it makes as strong an impact on the MKV's, but the cloth is so much more comfortable, particularly in heat.

Yeah I will die in summer here. It gets really hot! Still haven't decided what to get yet. All I know for certain is it'll be 5dr, red, DSG, with sunroof.

If anyone has any pics of their latte leather it would be much appreciated. I am still undecided about what colour leather to get, and scared of regretting getting the latte especially if unable to see it 1st in real life.

I'm still waiting for mine - every week it's next week, gave the dealer a serve yesterday. Apparently my car is now in the Patrick yard in Melbourne after having a trip from Port Kembla to Perth and back again.

I think the Latte looks best. Anthracite is nice but the Latte seems more classy. Thanks for the pics and thanks to your mate for helping out!
