Sub <$300 intake for GTI

Hey guys,

Looking for an intake for a GTI (actually an FSI A3), but they all seem to be astronomically expensive. Are there any more affordable options that have become available in the past year or so? Looking for a full intake as opposed to something like the Carbonio.

Only way to get a half decent one at that budget is to buy used, or make your own. Pretty easy really, I retrofitted a BA GT Falcon one to my similar-ish intake layout TDI, and some alloy intercooler pipe and some silicon elbows would get you to the GTI turbo. My intake cost me $170, and the pic below is only half finished, yet to add the Ford snorkle over the radiator, which is the trickiest bit really. You can buy a MAF mount from 42DD I believe, as well as most fabrication places, hell I have an old unused Golf R MAF housing from 42DD I will never use, left over from my old business, You could use / cut the maf bracket off that. Get it welded by Bushell Engineering at Albion if you can't weld yourself, those guys do excellent work for cashies.

Is it trendy - nope. Is it pretty - nope. Is it proven - nope. Was it cheap - yes. Does it free up space for other goodies - absolutely.

The NeuSpeed P-Flo is probably the most affordable off-the-shelf intake for the FSI engine. I had one of these on my Golf R for a while and they are good quality, fit well and sound nice.

Find a used one of these they are great, last for ever, add a nice sound and are enclosed so you wont get a defect.

Edit I had the BMC CDA on my Mk4, I assume the DIA would be similar.
