  • Central locking not working driver side only

So the central locking has stopped working on my drivers side door only. I have a 2005 golf 1.9td. Appreciate any assistance on how I can fix this. Cheers!

Do all the other switches and lights work on that door?

it may be some wires that have broken in the door wiring harness, have a look at this:

Door wiring harness -cracked wire replacement - mk5 VW | VW TDI forum, Audi, Porsche, and Chevy Cruze diesel forum

this was my issue, i just soldered the wires back together

If all the other electrics are OK, it'll be the lock module.

Kdog, I'd have replaced the harness. Soldering them up is only a short term fix.

Central locking on my passenger side front door on my gti had stopped working when I bought it, even pressing the lock and unlock button inside didn't lock or unlock the door, I replaced the door locking mechanism, I bought one for $60 or so on ebay and fitted it myself, this requires taking off the outer door skin, takes about an hour

Ours has same problem. Key works on drivers door but not remote. The key is mechanically connected to the lock as first turn does nothing and second turn of the key unlocks the door. May be broken wire. Seems they use ordinary automotive wire which if you bend it a few hundred or thousand times will harden and then break. Not a good design. Have already had broken wire in hatch door.
