Are you serious ? You thought your car might be using oil but for some reason you didn't actually check it yourself ? And now it is totally the dealer's fault the engine is low on oil ?

So we have no discovered that my GTI is using oil and its due back at VW at 20,000 k's.

I had it serviced at 16,000 and by 18,500 it has used 2 litres of oil!!!

Is anyone else noticing this sort of oil use?

I honestly believe with the car blowing weed under acceleration and that amount of oil use that one of the seals on the turbo is done.

      Anyone else with any ideas?

I had a twin cam Holden Apollo (Camry) 70,000k's it used a fair bit of oil (a couple of litres easy each oil change) as well and would blow a heap of smoke when you planted the foot down. It turned out to be valve stem seals. I suppose another consideration could be the incorrect grade of oil has been used at service time ??? Apprentices have to learn too you know !!!!
