Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

          Picked up my GTI today.

MY09 United Grey 3DR with Leather and DSG.

Best toy ever (but I need to get it out of inner-Melbourne and onto some proper roads asap).

Big thanks to Jake at Camberwell VW (Melbourne) - great service and a great deal.

So far 98 kmson the clock or close to it. I think I'm in love is that kinky ?
First European car I've had as my own wife has a Citroen both are diesel. I think it will be diesel from now on until they bring out hydrogen fueled cars.

I have to say Peter and colleagues at Barloworld Glen Waverley VW were excellent to deal with. Thank you Peter and co

                Picture tomorrow

                Cheers

You WILL love it,expecially after your previous car.
And how does it compare to the wifes Citroen.
The Grey looks beautiful, try keep it looking spotless...that will be a challenge, and try keep those alloys shiny...another challenge, but well worth it.

                            Thanks Anthony, DaveMack and Dubdabest,

It's a great car. Re the Wife's Citroen the build quality feels similar i.e. solid and not like an aluminum beer can ! The engines so far feel similar, I haven't pushed the turbo yet as I've only done about 300km and want to break her in gently. I love the display went through the Burnely tunnel and the dash lit up, love the blue and red !!!

I may have to get some advice on washing / polishing as we are heading towards level 4 water restrictions soon.

                            Cheers

Hey all, picked up my R32 this week. It's got the options of DSG, sunroof, recaro's, tint, ipod, bluetooth and park sensors, along with all the standard kit on the R32 like leather, xenons, heated seats etc. A mate of mine also is a member on here with a GTI, so hoping to make it to a couple of drives sometime.

                                A couple of dodgy pics:
