Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Anybody in here or have you all moved to FB?

Just isn't the crowd that there used to be in this section.

Has everyone purchased later models, moved forums or now on FB???

To me FB is a bit weird as there isn't anywhere near the same level of categories.

    Would like some feedback. Thanks!

          Here.

The Mk5 is my wife's daily ride which we recently bought from my brother and is running well at the moment. My current focus is getting the Vento to a roadworthy condition. When I can afford it, will look at my options for an upgraded head unit with reversing camera display and canbus upgrade but that will be at least 12 months away. Longer term would consider getting GTI springs and shocks fitted.

One of the people at work (we have 4,000 staff in the organisation, unfortunately I have not met all the VW owners yet) has a red Mk5 R32 that parks in the same carpark that I use, it is in beautiful condition. I will try to get a photo at some stage.

So, only 5 peeps have responded over a day.

FB on the other hand has been going nuts!

Shame but I guess that's simply the evolution of life .

I joined Australian R32 VW Owners group.
The good thing about FB is you don't have to mess with embedded data crap with makes it much easier to share videos etc.

Fair enough. I do prefer the "order" of a forum but time is more precious the older we get, so we either keep up or miss out.

I've been using VWW for about 2 years and still check in daily. I just don't always have something worthwhile to contribute as most things have been covered somewhere already.
