  • Red R32

So my dad said he spotted a Red MkV R32 driving around. I thought someone had had a respray at first but driving down past Highway VW today I saw a red three door at the dealership as well.
Does anyone know if this is a limited edition colour or is Red now a permanent Australian lineup colour. Looked damn sweet too by the way.

Was down there last week getting some stuff for my R36 sorted out and my sales guy said the Red is a new colour in the R32 lineup. The new cars also come with the same wheels as the R36, appart from this they are the same.

Is this the MY09 version then?

Dunno. It's still a bit early in the year for MY09 spec models isn't it.

I'd have thought so, but to suddenly add a colour and change the wheels is a little unusual is it not?

Wheels were changed for the MY08 version from the original MkV wheels. I prefer the originals though. One day they'll probably fit wheels to the R32 that are easy to keep clean.

Precisely my point - I'd only expect a change as the MY changes.

The R36 wheels are much nicer than what was on the MY08 R32. I was considering trying to trade down to MY07 wheels if I manage to get an R32, but if they are sharing wheels with the R36, it looks like I won't have to!

Ah my bad. I thought they were the same rim. But looking at some photos I see now that they are different. The R36 rims are nicer than the MY08 R32s.

I'd cope with the wheels if I had one!

I thought the same thing when I got mine, preferred the MY07 wheels when I was shopping around... but now I have the MY08 wheels, I love them and I'd never swap them. Haven't had a close look at the R36 wheels though, are they still 18"?

I am still annoyed at Barloworld Five Dock for turning the only Red R32 I could find in the country at the time into an F'n demo the day before!

                        Same...

Maybe it's just me, but the wheels on the R36 look pretty much the same as the ones on the R32...
MY08 R32, 5 Dr, DSG, United Grey, RNS510 Sat Nav. GOT IT!

They're subtly different. The way they blend into the center is cleaner on the new wheels as opposed to the slight overlap on the MY08 R32.

                          R36 has 18s.

Don't think anyone said they didn't like them. Just preferred others.
