Hi all,
New to the forums here - after a quick look around the threads, it looks like a great place for VW fans like myself to hangout
Anyway - I have an 06 Golf 2.0 TDI that i bought new as a lease car - i recently flashed the ECU using the Bluefin hand unit from Superchips.co.uk and wanted to share some thoughts with anyone considering flashing their ECU. Man - what a difference! Was hasstle free to flash - they were very fast in emailing me out the new ECU program (30mins to be exact) 20mins later i was blasting down the road with my friend in the car (who has never been in a diesel before) and he was very suprised by the performance....so was I!!. After driving the car for roughly 2yrs stock - then upgrading the ECU, you can really feel the difference in low down torque - as well as cruising and overtaking power. I now have trouble holding traction in a straight line from the lights on dry road with brand new Goodyear Eagle F1's on. To get the traction control light flashing i just have to let it get a mere whiff of boost from down low, no need to mash the throttle to the floor, then the thing just rips through the gears on the DSG tre rapid!
I also find now, that after the DSG has had time to learn more about the engine's new torque curves, it holds the gears longer and upshifts quicker. My economy under normal driving has also increased - probably due to less swapping of cogs. Ive yet to dyno my Golf - but fully expect their claim of 130'ish kw and 395-400nm with the new tune to be fairly accurate.
Anyway, anyone considering such an upgrade for their TDI - i can fully recommend it - driving it is so much fun

Cheers,
DSGMAN.
