  • R32 with buzzing doors when playing Music

    HI There
Anyone experience a problem, when playing music even at the lowest of volumes, cause the doors to buz (vibrate form the bass). I have a 2 door R32 MK5 done 11K now. I am taking it to the dealership who very quickly said they will take the door panels off and place foam lining under the panels. This makes me think they are aware of the problem. Otherwise the car is the best Ive owned.

They all do it yo. It is just a design thing.

At least they are being good enough to help you alleviate the problem

Or stop listening to MEGA BASS...

I have exactly the same problem on my 3 door GTI.

Let us know whether the "fix" works or not?

My Mk3 does the same thing, although it could very well be attributed to age. My Hyundai Elantra (which we bought new) did it... although it could be attributed to Hyundai

When all else fails, lots of Dynamat fixes everything.

If it has an engine or heartbeat it's going to cost you.

Same thing with my 5 door GTI (05), dealer says they're all like that, tested another Golf there with the same CD and the doors still vibrates. Nothing they can do they say. Pretty obvious the plastic bolts are loose which would have caused the vibrations. Stops when you press against the door panel.

Not happy, vibrates even on low volume with the bass turned down.

Sometimes it feels like driveing an expensive vibrator to be honest.

Will probably have to see a car audio specialist to see if it can be sealed properly.

Audio installer can install Dynamat and it will solve your problems. I had my two front doors dynamatted for 150 dollars (all up). No more vibrations.

Or you can always buy some Dynamat (or Stinger Roadkill) and install it yourself. Its not all that hard but you have to make sure that you clean your doors panels THOROUGHLY otherwise the matting will come undone.

It concerns me asking the dealer to take the door panels off. I was surprised that they offered to do it.

Which audio specialist was prepared to do it for $150.00 ea??

maybe a easy fix is to get a free air sub for the backboard and take the bass away from the doors completely by installing mids only. does anyone know if the 6 stacker CD unit has preamp outputs for a amp?

Do you ever have problems trying to pry the missus out of the car after a long drive?

Got the car back from the dealer the other day. They said they could not find a problem with the rattling doors yet when booking it in for service they said they would take the door panels off and replace with foam. so after saying they did nothing to the car as they could not find the problem, the problem has gone and there are no vibrations at all even with the bass turned up?? go figure??
I also had a problem where the indicator stalk was sticking, they claimed that they could not find a problem with this either, yet its fixed?? whats the story perhaps they are trying to cut the number of complaints/faults per car by not owning up to the problems?? I am amazed the car is perfect now. i noticed they washed the car and only noticed the today that they cleaned the inside of the rims as if they where brand new. I am wondering what wheel cleaner they used because its brilliant.

The best I have used is Kitten.

Normally I go for Auto Glym or Meguiar's but I have tried all three on my GT Sport and it is considerably better (and normally sold out at REPCO)

I also got the dealer to have a look at the vibration problems on Wednesday and they fould that 2 screws were missing and some plastic bolt-on clips were loose so they replaced them and re-sealed the speakers and vibrations disappeared. Only problem was I had to work so had my wife drive the car there, result? she forgot to mention both front doors so the passenger side wasn't checked. Sigh!!!! Back there next week.

We took it to Denlo Syd-Parra and was very satisfied with the service by the staff. Very professional. This is after we took it to McGrath Liverpool and was simply brushed off with them saying the car is built like that. They even told us that they checked the vibrations and nothing's wrong. We were told by the Denlo service supervisor that vibrations at low vol. is unacceptable for these sort of cars and that if the guys at McGrath Liverool had opened up the door panel like they said they did there's no way they would have missed the missing and loose screws.

Fair to say we won't be going back there.

I went to Five dock VW. i am happy its all fixed despite them saying that they did nothing. i have tried all the wheel cleaners on the market. i literally bought about 10 different makes (all acid free) and I found the auto armour product the best of all by miles. i still wondering if VW sell a wheel cleaner thats better?
