Rams, Welcome and remember it also depend on what sort of driving you do. We do about half & half and recently on a country run returned 5.2l/100 on a 697klm round trip in the DSG Jetta TDi. We are currently averaging 6 in the city (half freeway, half suburbia) Also, dont look at the price of fuel. Sure diesel is higher, but it costs us just under 10c per klm with diesel @ $1.60 (that's 16klm per litre).Originally posted by Rams View PostI have test driven the Golf TDI already and loved it!
Is there much difference between the TDI golf and TDI Jetta fuel consumption? I have done some research but its always better to ask owners then what vw have quoted the consumption to be in the best possible scenario.MY07 TDi DSG beige leather bi-xenons & 3M car bra

Very nicely put.Originally posted by Rileyowner View Post.....
A diesel is different. You are much more a part of the motoring experince. You can hear (and sometimes even smell) the engine. You notice when it's working hard and when it's just coasting on torque - and it challenges you to improve your driving skills to get the most from it.
My 2.0 TDI Jetta is the most fun I've had on (modern) wheels for a very long time.
I'd have to agree that this little "hairdresser" car is a blast, and I just adore driving it. Like 'Riley so aptly points out, it "feels" like a real drivers car to me. Mate, compared to the cars we both used to drive....not quite as "tough"
