Hi Fellow Fans
Noticed my 170,000 ks Jetta brake rotors showing quite a noticeable ridge on the outside as if the pads (originals) had cut into them. Its equal on all 4 wheels ; the rotors are worn very smooth and there is no sign of grabbing or shudder.
I m guessing this is normal wear and that perhaps the rotors may need machining to take that lip off before putting new brake pads on ??? Pads must be due soon???
Do the GTI models ( Golf and Polo ) have extra heavy duty rotors and calipers over the standard models?
My Jetta is the 1.6 Diesel with 7 speed DSG; so little engine braking here and with a wife who doesn't know about moving the gear box selector, when vehicle in motion; I'm surprised the original pads have got this far !
Anyone care to comment?
