Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before.     New GTI

    Just picked up my GTI this morning from Chatswood Classic Cars.

    The car was impeccably prepared and I got a gift basket!

    Getting used to the DSG - I've previously had manual cars.

    The disk for the RNS510 wasn't available. They said they should have it on Tuesday. So, it's just a fancy radio at the moment with instructions in German.

          I wish I had a brother (hey - any relative!) that would buy me a GTI.

          I went to take pics last weekend but the camera battery was dead. Now it's filthy so I'll have to clean it first

            When are VW going to get their sh*t together with RNS510 DVDs

            I got told similar to you "the disc will be available next week" - it took VW 5 weeks and that was after phoning VW general manager

                It seems so strange that they don't just install it to the hard drive anyway, and then send the disk in the mail.

                  I personally think its pathetic the DVD’s (in general) are not available at the time you pick the car up.

                  Why do VW not pre-load something onto the HDD so that at least you have BASIC functionality in ENGLISH

                    I said as much when VW ranfg me for my after purchase survey - but, at least they should set and pre-load English as part of the pre-delivery.

                    Does anyone know how to load the contents of the NAV DVD to the HDD? Can't find it in the manual.
