  • Woefully low kms ...

I've just realised that I have owned my Jetta since July 07 and in the 10months or so since then, I've only 3600kms.

Reason being is that shortly after I got the Jetta, my workplace decided to rebuild the carparking. This means that there is limited carparking available - they recycled an old storage yard, which is dirt and gravel littered with old bolts, screws, metal etc (know of several people who have lost a tyre). So I've been driving our battlewagon (Jeep).

So the Jettas only ever been driven on the weekend jaunts into the countryside ...

I'm going to feel a bit sheepish come 12mth service time, I doubt it will have even cracked 5000kms!

      Noooo

Once the carparks finished it'll be back to doing normal kays anyway (the Jeep is not a great vehiclearound town), I just couldn't believe how few kms it has on it already.

Since my first fill up of the VR6 on 05/09/2007 I have done 5,659Km using a total of 667.68L of fuel which gives a running average of 11.80L/100Km.

Best fuel consumption for a tank: 8.64L/100Km
Worst fuel consumption for a tank: 14.51L/100Km

          Running average Km/day: 24.68Km
          Best average Km/day: 11.74Km
          Worst average Km/day: 314.00Km

Shortest time between tanks: 1 day
Longest time between tanks: 31 days
          Average days between tanks: 12.7days

          There are graphs too...

As you can see I have too much time on my hands.

If it has an engine or heartbeat it's going to cost you.

Use is such a small word. I spend half my life in Excel

In this case I use Pocket Excel on my PDA so I fill in the info while at the servo

It's actually a smartphone, so it's *slightly* less nerdy than carrying a PDA round too

The sheet as it stands now needs the odometer reading, the litres of fuel and the date which then does a straight calculation to show a most of those figures, the minimum and maximum's I pulled out seperately, but then the sheet can't be too complex or Pocket Excel doesn't know what to do with it.

Your more than welcome to a copy of what I have if you want it. PM on the off chance I forget to come and read this thread.

Just think of the fuel bill should you have boo-booed and bought a petrol Land Bruiser instead!
