Will I need to upgrade can bus?

I've just thought an rcd510 for my wife's 04 mk5 golf sportline, I'm wondering if there is a way to know if it will have battery drain issues or if it will need a new can bus software?

If it will, how do I best go about it?? The ones on ebay all say they still need "vag com programming"? What I this?

Any help would be fantastic guys.

Talk to Transporter, he can update the software for you.
You will have a revision of gateway that will be susceptible to battery drain with newer head units.

Had a play today with a clients scan tool (non vw mechanic) and tried to find what can bus we have in the golf.. Does this picture mean anything?
