Why would you want to do such a thing? You might as well stick some Mugen and SLR/5000 stickers on it as well!

And paint flames on the side. And have a half naked barbarian warrior woman slaying a dragon on the bonnet.

Guys, I used to own a genuine BA GT. How many friggen falcons, commodores and magna's now have stripes?

I think the GTI / R32 crew get it easy!

Only half naked barbarian woman on bonnet? C'mon, why do things by half..fully naked or nothing :-0
Seriously though, there's nothing wrong with anyone wanting to convert the look of the Golf, I've looked into it but decided against it at the moment. Isn't imitation the ultimate form of flattery? Some people love the look of the GTI /GT but can't afford the extra outlay so changing the front is a cheaper alternative to the real thing.
I used to be indecisive - now I'm just not sure....

I dont see any problem with mixing and matching parts from other models.
I put R32 tail lights on my GTI. I dont think that makes me a pretender. Its all about making your car look how u want it to.
Having said that. why stop at the GTI front end? Why not do an R32 one? I think its sexier

                Magna with GT stripes, LOL.
That's possibly even worse that a comfortline with GTI front, not much though.

Why is it an issue? I've got an R32, but I also have a spare set of wheels. If a friend bought a 'lesser' vehicle, I'd happily give them the wheels. Wouldn't make them 'wannabes'. Just make their car look better.
