any opinions on a thicker rear sway bar for the Jetta?
Current - 2015 Tiguan 155 R-Line.
Previous - Jetta MkV 147 Turbo, Viezu Raceday mapped, Carbonio CAI, Quad Exhaust System, R8 Coil pack, Whiteline Swaybar, GTi Steering wheel with paddles, Alloy pedals, RNS510 & Leather.Tags: None

If it's anything like the Tiguan, the rear sway bar was pretty lightweight compared to the aftermarket ones available.
Depends how stiff you want the rear end.

If you think the amount of body roll you're getting is too much for your driving style then I'd look at getting one. The rears are relatively easy to install (unlike the front sway bars which require a workshop/ hoist).

Increased rated rear swaybar is fine if you are happy with an increase in NVH, usually you would increase both the front and back as the car will get a bit twitchy at about 8/10. Different brands have different rates even at the same diameter, so if H&R 24mm rear and 26mm front is a good balance, hotchkis 27mm front and rear also good they are hollow.2.0 TFSI Stage 2 Tune by DriverMotorsport

I've done both but a lot of people just do the rears as a DIY. If you were just to upgrade the rear bar I would go for a lighter/less stiff bar because of above issue.
