Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

If it's anything like the Tiguan, the rear sway bar was pretty lightweight compared to the aftermarket ones available.

Depends how stiff you want the rear end.

If you think the amount of body roll you're getting is too much for your driving style then I'd look at getting one. The rears are relatively easy to install (unlike the front sway bars which require a workshop/ hoist).

Increased rated rear swaybar is fine if you are happy with an increase in NVH, usually you would increase both the front and back as the car will get a bit twitchy at about 8/10. Different brands have different rates even at the same diameter, so if H&R 24mm rear and 26mm front is a good balance, hotchkis 27mm front and rear also good they are hollow.

I've done both but a lot of people just do the rears as a DIY. If you were just to upgrade the rear bar I would go for a lighter/less stiff bar because of above issue.
