If you look at the reviews on the Bold Sport website, you will see there is a small wiring change to be made.

I have a MK6 Climatronic unit (out of my Golf R) if you are interested for cheap. (although you would still have to source the new dash facia piece). I have upgraded to the Mk7 Climtronic unit.

I have installed this in mine. It needs the wire change but other than that, it is an easy fit and you get the display on the rns

                All fitted up today.
In large connector I cut wire 20 50mm from connector, slid no16 from its base and connected and insuation taped it to the tail from no20.
I then taped up the bare end from 20 and rewrapped the loom with its cloth tape.
Ran the car and all seems to be working well
Ran vcds and got the Air quality sensor fault. Not an issue as it ignores the sensor then afaik.
Had a look under coding and adaption to see if I could disable it but no go.
Sensor is $40 delivered from Bold Sport. Not sure if I need it though.
Thanks for the help in the posts above

Air quality sensor fitted, no fault codes any more
Recirc 2nd button lights up with "A" symbol now as well.
Certainly makes air delivery more consistant than the mk5 one it replaced.
Now I need copy of the heater operating functions from An mk6 glove box manual..

                    Hey guys,
I'm about to drop some cash on the Bold sport Mk6 climatronic upgrade and i need to choose between the 2 versions:
                    -with auto recirculation
                    -without auto recirculation

Any idea which one would be suitable for my 2008 Golf GTI?

                    Cheers
