Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Cheapest supplier of H&R Springs?

I'm considering lowering my Golf (just a little).

Going by reviews and feedback H & R 54750 springs sound like the go.

Any recommendations or good contacts (within Australia)?

    Alan.

    Cheapest supplier of H&R Springs?

Orange Tuning in Germany do them cheaply (around $300-320 delivered to here) but you have to wait 2-3wks for delivery.

You will pay around $600 for them locally.

      Would $600 be including installation?

Which model car do you have? 54750 is a US Market application so you wont find it from any European supplier or local distributor that is purchasing through Australian/European distribution channel.

The local H&R distributor has recently set RRPs on H&R springs between $499 to $699 depending on application. If you want to shoot me through an email to sales@dubaddiction.com.au I can check on local availability and the best possible price.

Hi Tim and thanks for your response.

Yes the model number is from their U.S. website.

My car is a Golf mk5 Sportline, 2.0 FSI (non turbo).

That will be just for the springs. I believe it's a fairly labour intensive job to change the springs over and depending on where you are I've seen quotes range from $300 to $500 to do it.

The price i quoted above is supply only. Installation cost is extra (or you can DIY).

Rear springs are a 20min job max. Front springs are a bit of a pain.
