Hi Everyone,
Ive been having a nightmare of a time with the 2.0 Petrol Golf that my lovely girl owns, but I drive for work (my motorbikes and car (1963 Triumph TR4) are unsuitable).
In the 15 months or so of ownership the car has been experiencing a regular problem where the power will cut out for a split second, taco will drop and then back to normal in between half a second or sometime longer maybe a second an a half. that is a bareable problem when cruising in 3-6th gear, but if it happens at launch from the lights or while in traffic the car will often stall if I cant jam my foot into the clutch quick enough.
Your first question to me will likely be "why the hell have you been dealing with this for 15month or more without getting it sorted" well its kinda complicated and I don't think my answer will be of any importance to the problem. I would have liked to fix the issues but have been unable.
In addition to this problem, the car has also just had an oil leak at the oil filter housing repaired at considerable cost. plus a leaky radiator identified and replaced at this time.
Also some bizarre electrical demon which will turn on the AC sometimes by itself, the right hand side of the car wont lock, the rear passenger door cant be opened from the inside, the drivers door wont unlock remotely.
On top of all that Ive had the emissions sensor lamp on for maybe 5 months, I had it scanned but VW said they couldn't work out the fault? So Ive left it.
And then finally this morning on the way to work the oil pressure lamp and dash waring were coming on for a minute or two, then turning off and then on then off, repeating for a little while before going back to normal.
I don't have the money to just book the car into a dealer and say fix it.
Anyone have any ideas what could be going wrong?
