Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

    I really doubt a chipped GTI would get anywhere near 300, more like 250.

    I like a lot of the features in the Golf. They really aren't necessary but make nice touches and thought into how you drive and use the car.

    One reverse light is a bit of a sticker for me and the auto-wipers isn't crash hot.

              Stock is 235, Edition 30 is 245 (169kw/330nm) so a APR or similar should be quicker than that. True that wind resistance plays a big part but so does big torque.

                It would mostly come down to final drive gearing too, and how tall your last couple of gears are. You can have all the power and torque in the world, but if you gearing isn't tall enough, you will be bouncing off the rev limiter very quickly.
