VW as company and this particular dealership MUST have a better system otherwise every bodies order would be wrong. I was just unlucky with my salesman who has no idea how to do his job properly.

Here's a thought - if i take the car (and live with the anthracite leather ) should i get the dealership to compensate me with premium Bluetooth?

Can this be fitted at dealer rather than factory? And how much is it typically?

I heard that things like bluetooth and reverse parking sensors and ipod systems are actually installed by the dealer.

Great idea, see what you can get out of them.
Bluetooth fitted or some free servicing would be great providing you can live with the anthracite.

Could also help if barganing gets tough to mention that youre not happy with the ordering system and how easily it can be stuffed up so youre going to make a call to VW Aus.
It might get them running scared a bit and bend over a bit more for you, then again it might do sweet FA also.

I ordered the latte leather for my R32, and I love it. If it had turned up with the wrong colour I would have rejected the car. No amount of small give aways will compensate for the fact that you didn't get what you ordered, and as time goes by it will bug you more and more.

I definitely like the Anthracite leather much much more. The latte with the grey and black looks awful.......But that's just me.
Get them to give you the Premiuim Bluetooth when it arrives in Aus.

Update - tried VW head office, tried dealer tried everything possible and it boils down to 2 options.
1. Take the car as is and re-upholster the leather
2. Wait 4.5 months again for the correct car.

I'm going to take option 1 as i can't afford to run my land cruiser for another 4.5 months (not with the current price of fuel) and re-upholster in beige leather - should look awesome.

and it is possible to recolour leather without replacing it. Is that what we are talking about?

far out i hope they make sure everything is done right airbag-wise (remember theres airbags in the seats, youd ont want them using super-tough leather or ignoring where the airbags are supposed to explode which would renders them useless). id be wanting something mighty sweet thrown in.

I have ordered a Passat with Osborne Park VW (Perth) with Dark leather and RNS510. I am not too worrying about the leather bit but the Nav. Please keep me update with your Nav as I know it's new to Aus VW. Did they tell you the Map will be available in 2 weeks time or something like that?

The sales manager I dealt with who is a German, so I guess he would have got no problem changing the language back to English. I am worrying about the map now. Hopefully I don't have such problems when I pick up my car in July.

There doesn't appear to be any consistency with how the maps are loaded. Some people get the DVD at the same time as their car (which makes perfect sense), others like myself have to wait on VW posting it out.

I'd talk to your dealer.
