I have access to a faster car and I definitely have a bigger shotgun.

If they try that on me... they'd get a few minutes head start while I change undies... but after that...

Generally it is harder to claim a car stolen when you don't have the set of keys!

Just on why a car like the R32 would be used for a get away car...did you notice the car that the bank robbers and diamond robbers in Sydney used a few weeks ago...An Audi RS4 Avant...very much like the the R32...Fast, all wheel drive, 4 door, and to those who don't know cars, a bit of a sleeper.

Oh, and "Jester Fu", I live in Darwin and heard about The R32 Car Jacking, so I suggest you recalibrate your Bulls**t Meter...When a guy jumps on here with a genuine concern and some advice for car owners, you can take it with a grain of salt, but don't rubbish him to the rest of the forum...If you don't believe him, keep your opinions to yourself.

Settle down, princess, and be prepared to back your lip service up with some facts.
Jester, i agree with youl, i think the OP got a lil precious.

Evolution of armed robbery in Sydney. Makes sense to pick a car with 4 doors, good on road performance which does not stand out. A definite sleeper and there are heaps out their on the roads compared to audi RS4's. Evo's are a good choice but they stand out like dogs balls.

Yeah... it seems if you question someone for some facts and they don't have them the more likely they are to be precious about your comments. I didn't call anyone a liar - i suggested that without some sort of published evidence, this story sounds like BS along with the 20 or so junk email message with similar content released on the web every day. You choose to take offence to that and my BS meter goes into full deflection.

Despite the obvious willingness for some people to think the worst of Australian society, my own opinion is that a private citizen being held at gun point for a car in their own home generally makes for news. It's not an every day event.

It certainly makes for a story the police would want to get out if there is some pattern emerging to warn everyone with these 'highly desirable' criminal cars. I mean, it was news worthy that a DUI driver hit 7 cars in the Sydney city last week... you'd think there might be a story in a woman having a shotgun pushed in her face while two men demand her car keys in her own home. Or maybe a DUI is much more note worthy than a shotgun and theft of a $60k car?? Yeah, i didn't think so either.

If true, its a worry - that poor lady must be scarred for life. Even if its not true, there are plenty of stories about houses being broken into and keys stolen to GTI's. The alarms/security are so good, the only way to pinch them is to jack them.
