Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Help needed. K04 turbo swap

Okay I know this sounds weird but I have an Audi 8L S3 and a Mk5 Jetta 2.0T

Now my Jetta is being set up for stage 2 in a week and the S3 I don't really use. So my question is:

Can I swap my S3 manifold and Ko4 turbo from the S3 into my Jetta and the Jetta manifold and Ko3 into the S3?

Will they be direct swaps? Would I need to swap anything else or just those 2 things.

PS. I know I will have to tune them both to run properly and I was thinking of swapping injectors etc. Basically I want the Jetta to be fast car. The S3 I never drive so don't car about power loss and all that

The downpipes won't be a direct fit for a starter, so that's a job stopper there.

The injectors cannot be swapped either they are totally different.

Nothing will fit, manifold flange is completely different. Pretty sure on the 2.0s the manifold and turbo exhaust housing are cast together. 2.0 is direct injection, 1.8 is not, etc, etc. why don't you stage 2 the s3?

Correct - nothing is similar. just as easy to bolt an XR6 Garrett turbo on....
