It's almost time for my 1st 15K service. Does anyone in the forum have any bad experience from Barloworld Glen Waverley or a particular dealer? I got the car from Barloworld so I would like to bring it back to them if their price is reasonable.

Thanks in advance.
I also purchased mine from Barloworld @ Glen Waverley. I'd be interested in stories about their service - both good and bad.
As stated, PM me the bad stories hehe. I'm sure Barloworld isn't going to sue good stories being posted up
for us to make sure every bad story is factual is a big ask from us..plz remember we are not paid to moderate and all of this sites upkeep costs are GIVEN to us.
this has been debated at length before and it was decided that all BAD experiences would be deleted.
I dont agree with it,but its better than golf loon,99gti and all the exec team being threatened with defamation.
if you have a issue with this, please take it up with admin.
I had my Jetta delivered by Barloworld in late 2006 and it's been back for both the 15k and 30k services. All I can say is theye are great!
Not only serviced the car but washed and vacced too! I have found their prices comparable to my v6 Toyota Camry for similar distance services.
We bought our GTI from them and they were great. Of course, it lives in another state and hasn't been back for a visit.
I know sales and service are two completely different parts of the dealership.
Why not find a local VW specialist? I did, and they're great - not too much $$, closer than a VW dealer's service place, very thorough, and very good. Nice people too If there's any warranty work that needs doing, take it to a VW dealer... but otherwise, why would you?
Anyone know if barloworld in GW offer a courtesy car when you take your car in for a service?
When I bought the car, I remember them saying that you can book an appointment for the service and you're free to enjoy coffee & cereal while you wait. I think it's only a 30min odd job if you don't have to wait for the mechanics to finish working on other cars first.
But a courtesy car would be nice if they want the car there for more than an hour.
Hi all, I am yet to experience the service side of things with VW. For those people in Sydney, I know a VW mechanic (he went to school with me) currently doing odd jobs here and there. He has been with VW for over 10 years and knows these cars inside out mechanically as well as electronically. If you want to keep the service departments honest it maybe worth having a look at the car and he can tell you what needs doing so the service department doesnt rip you off. If you want his details PM me and I shall send them through.
Cheers
Tom

I know some around here dont like South Yarra VW but they;ve been great to me.
They also have a new service centre in Abbottsford which if you live east side and work CBD is quite convenient. They should have a courtesy car without too much notice too. I;ve used them at both SY and Abbottsford and have not had any problems.
