My friend's 4 year old 130k Jetta 118DSG that cost $35,000 new just got snapped up at auction for $6700. It was undamaged, regularly serviced, immaculate condition, had the APR stage I upgrade, 17" VW alloys and drove like new. During its life it has had the typical twincharger cracked pistons requiring 2 engine replacements (under warranty) and the 7 speed DSG has had the usual mechatronics and clutch replacements. No dealer would touch it as a trade or cash buy.
Is this is the result of the recent bad press the DSG problems and twincharger engine have received then I wonder how it will affect VW products in general?
