  • Need a contact at VW Australia

    Hi again,

I posted earlier on a problem with the radio reception in a Jetta TDi still under warranty) and how I was getting the run around from the dealer. I have had advice from RACQ that the problem is most likely a poor or loose contact, and not the tinted rear windscreen the dealer would like it to be.

I had the vehicle in again a fortnight ago (3rd time) and insisted they investigate properly. After "checking and cleaning all contacts" there was no improvement, but I got an acknowledgement that there was indeed a problem. They undertook to contact the VW Rep and seek his advice. I rang the dealer today to enquire on any progress, and they said they would ring back. I'm still waiting.

What I need now is a contact at VW Australia, name/phone/address/email so I can contact them direct. I have already tried through the "contact us" link on their website 6 weeks ago, but that has been ignored also. I need this information so that I can tell the Office of Fair Trading, when I put it in their hands, that I have exhausted all avenues available to me.

    Thanks for any help

    Brian

Shouldn't the Service Manager at your dealership direct you to someone at the HQ ?

        Two problems there Ben.
        1. the dealership has recently ceased selling VWs but will still service and supply spare parts, so they're not really interested.

        2. He's the bloke who is not returning my calls and is other wise unavailable.

This has been going on since day 1, (18 months ago) and I don't want to give Fairtrading/Consumer Affairs/ACCC any excuse to refer it back to me. I want all the normal procedures to have been exhausted.

        Cheers

        Brian

If they are no longer a VW dealer then it may be worth going to another one close by, u dont need to return it to the place that sold u the car to get warranty work done, and if they even suspect that u might be thinking of changing the car (whether or not u are)then they will most likelybend over backwards.

that would have been back when vw werent doing their own distribution and it was inchcape in charge over here though right? doubt you'd have the same success these days...

was the dying days of inchcape.... worth a shot though if all avenues have been used...I would write to the dealer priciple ,cc'd to VWa before all others,.

Who pays for the warranty work anyway? Does that dealer have to cover parts and labour or do they get reimbursed from VWA?

If they get reimbursed from VWA can't you just take it to another dealer? Assuming your not in a one dealer town that is.

They no longer sell VWs but they are still the official service and parts agent.

The next closest dealer is 400km away, but thanks for the thought.
