  • Should I Be Suspicious?

Hmmm. I know my R32 was delivered to the dealer last week and they say I will get it mid February.

I also note that the Brisbane Motor Show starts this weekend and finishes around the 11th.

Is it my suspicious mind or should I go to the show this weekend and look for a blue R32 with my combination of options on the VW stand??

I have my VIN so I could check if I see it.

Bugger that. I would call them and ask them if that was what their intentions were. If it is I think you'll find you'll have your car a lot quicker.

i'd go to the dealer and ask to see the car and ask why it takes them this long for delivery.

usually they can have it ready within 3 days if they're not busy.

I'd be making sure they don't go using it as a demo.

Well you never know. They're aren't that many R32s just sitting idley in Brisbane showrooms. If you're lucky they won't let anyone sit in them without the accompanyment of a sales rep. If no one sits in it you should be right.

Except for the fact that they probably drive the cars to the convention centre and back again!

If it was delivered last week but you don't get it until mid Feb, give them a call and ask why. Someone with dealer experience might know more but I thought that they would only need few days to prep your car.

VW Seem to be notorious for short changing their customers once the deals are done. I had a black jetta with beige leather that was to be delivered early Jan. The dealer called me a few days before to tell me that my Jetta was not going to arrive until Feb sometime with delivery in March. they offerred me something else (which was slightly better) but when I went into the shop, there I saw a black Jetta with all the options I had requested with the beige leather - something I was told by the dealer was very rare. it had a SOLD sign on it. I do not trust any of the VW dealerships anymore and will be weary about anything they tell me.

If it is your R32 out at the show......I would ask for some of the marketing money, after all it is your car they are using to market the VW brand. Or I guess they will hand over the car to you

Good Luck. This last part of the wait is the most torturous.

i believe they subsequently sold it to someone else at a higher price than what you are paying.

that's why i think it is very important to get the VIN of your car as early as possible. so you can track it online.

btw u752181, which dealer did you buy your car from?

That's not right at all. And so so dodgy.

I wonder if that's in some way breaking the purchase contract? Unfortunately they're probably a law unto themselves. At some stage they must have a car booked against your order.

it is dodgy but there is nothing we can do unless we have the VIN or we specificed on the contract when they have to deliver the car.

if we have the VIN and we can track the car has arrived, it is harder for them to make up excuses.

The car is coming from Austral Motors.

Just so I am not maligning them the cargo tracking site says it was discharged at the Port of Brisbane on 19 January and delivered on 23 January.

I am presuming that "delivered" means delivered to the dealer not to some customs holding yard or somesuch.

Hey it's not a 3DR DBP is it? I test drove this spec down at Austral last week. No options like Sat Nav or Sunroof but didn't check for rear parking sensors or bluetooth.

Whew! The sales guy gave it a real thrashing!

It might be in the showroom out of the weather as I haven't seen it outside when I go past on the way to and from work.
