Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Windscreen Washers Failed/Fuse Diagram

    Hello VW-ists,

I had to change a fuse for my 12V cigarette lighter socket a few weeks ago and since then my windscreen washers have stopped working - pretty annoying going into winter and having the car parked outside overnight. I'm hoping it's just a fuse, and for some reason I cannot find the related fuse on any fuse diagrams I have seen online and in the owner's manual.

The wipers, thankfully, still work, however the "buzzing" noise when the water comes out has stopped.

    Thought/solutions welcome.

    Julius.

It may be the washer pump has died (no sound), mine died last week and is about to be replaced.

SC42 15AMP ... SC are the fuses on the right hand side of the dash behind the oval panel.. power should be from there and its earth controlled by central electrics.. if you want me to totally confirm 100% its that fuse send me your VIN number....VDUB...
