How much did you pay for your Jetta/Golf?

Even though it was bought in February, I got my MY08 TDI Jetta in Deep Black for $25,000.. ($31,000 - $6,000 trade in for my Bora).

Gee, looking at the prices you've all secured, in comparison the offer I was made yesterday for a black GTi 5 door DSG & leather is downright sad. $43,600.

Was told equates to a large saving since on roads are free.

Have you picked up the car yet? If not, it may not be too late to re-negotiate. Otherwise, it may be worth forfeiting your deposit, in order to secure a better deal elsewhere.

Any other options apart from leather? Rear sensors? RNS510? Bi-Xenon? Sunroof?

For that price, you could almost have got a Pirelli

Did not leave a deposit as thought crossed my mind about waiting for the version 6 GTi. Dont feel that bad now!

I placed an order for a 118TSI 1.4L Jetta with metallic paint and bluetooth kit. total $ 35,500 including on roads. It is getting built and will be available in November.

I might add extended warranty as well for $ 1620.

I don't drive much, around 12 - 15K per year.

I did get the corporate discount.

I am intrigued as to what prices some dealers offer and have recently started getting some prices. typically how much can you get a dealer down on price. I have not purchased a new car before and was quoted $43k odd for a 5 door GTI with the upgraded 18 inch daytona wheels. With a price like this is there much room for price cutting?

01/07 5dr gti dsg black leather, 28k, serviced every 7k5, 33500. they did only give me a 500$ trade on a 97 camry vienta tho, so in reality I spose it was about 35k.

Its nice to know people are still paying about the same price, means I kinda got a good deal that was from a dealer too, with 6 months reg, serviced and a full tank. dumb ass triced to throw it in as a "bonus"

I got 12 months rego and a full tank, plus a CD that was left in the player.

I bought my 07 Silver TDI Jetta manual for $32000 driveaway. I bought it off a used car dealer who apparently got it wholesale for a dealer who forgot about the car.. it has 200km and a couple of scratches on the roof when I got it.

Overall, I was stoked with the price. I am now just up to 15,000kms.

Really enjoying the economy and torque of the TDI. I am glad I didn't bother modding my Mk4 GLE as much as I loved the look of teh Mk4
