Can i please ask all the recent VW buyers let me know what price should i be expecting for a Golf GT and Golf GTI?

I want to get the number right before i go negotiate at the dealer. I dont want to be unreasonable!

With the option of DSG, 5 Drs, Rear Parking sensor and Leather seat.

Thats a really good price on the GTI!!

When i signed my deal their dealer charge was almost 2.5k!

mind you I secured a 08 build 5 door GTI, red, manual with leather for 44.2k

That's without fleet discount but there were a lot of other issues that came into play namely my dealing with Austral VW who completely screwed me after over 3 months of waiting.

There may be $1000-1800 in my trade that I haven't allowed for and it's hard to work that part out. If I worked on some figures that I had from Austral after they tried to screw me for another $4000, you could add $1800 to the price to allow for the trade.

Highway Auto in Brisbane really looked after me despite my somewhat vulnerable position at the time, see my early post from back in April for the full details.

That's a pretty good deal and I'd be happy with it, they gave you a discount of $4300, I'm sure if it will make you feel better they will give you a dealer delivery of $995 and a discount of $2300. At the end of the day the figure that matters is the change over or the price you pay outright, the specific numbers on the page don't matter.

Thinking about the price you paid and thinking you could have gotten a better price will only ruin the experience, enjoy the car when it arrives and don't worry about a few dollars. You're in no position to re-negotiate now and you wouldn't like it if the dealer turned around and wanted more money after 3 months and then another $4000+ a week later after you thought you had it sorted (see below).

My experience was really screwed up by what occurred with Austral VW but Highway Auto VW helped me out and I still enjoyed the day I picked it up and every day since then. The time up until then was pretty crappy but it got better as the car got closer.
