24 Hour Countdown Begins...

ECR - Good luck picking up the car...can you do me a favour...let me know if they give you a little hamper (with some coffee, bickies, wine etc). Only I have a feeling they give this to all customers, and yet they tried to pass this off as an apology for the mix up... I actually saw someone picking up their Tourag and I'm sure they had the same hamper with them, so unless they make a lot of mistakes...

Everything went smoothly though, i'm just spewing that it's been raining all day! Car is fantastic - very happy with it (will take some pics when I clean it up after this damm rain goes away!)

How is this for a Quote from the salesman "It is illegal for me to give you your chassis and Vin numbers until the car is in our yard" - I would beleive against this individual yards policy but illegal COME ON!!!

I got my VIN from the dealer 2 days after doing the deal. Mind you that was about the only thing they didn't F**K up.

Must have just been my paranoia! Congrats of picking up the car...I'm sure we'll be out this weekend regardless of the weather, just to drive it. It really is a great car... Did your friend get his too (I think you said you were getting yours with a friend didn't you?)

Funny thing happened last night, I told my wife to have a drive, and she came back and said she loved it so much, if I'd have let her test drive it earlier (I originally test drove one in Sept, before finally deciding to buy in December), she would have let me buy it earlier...damn! There's a lesson for you...

Going for a drive up the coast today

My friend's still waiting for his car - doesn't arrive till April (White - DSG - Leather). He could've had any other combination earlier, but was pretty much firm on what he wanted and didn't mind waiting a little longer for it, especially considering it will also be an 08 build.

As for letting the misses take the car for a drive...I'm scared to let her have a go as I don't think she'll give it back!!!

are you serious re the provision of the vin? was the car already built, or was it due to be built when you were issued with it?

i was informed that they could not give me my vin until the car had been built??

G'day all, I have been a little quite for the last 24 hours because I have just driven through a half tank of petrol in my New Jetta 2.0 TFSi (it carries the TSi Badging). This car is awesome and I can now probably relate to those GTi owners out there. What a car? Sydney has had some really bad weather yesterday and today and hence have been a little cautious on the roads but this car goes!!!!!!! I have never seen my brother in law so scared as I ripped down Pitt Water road in S mode. No one believes me when I tell them this thing has a manual transmission. My other problem was trying to keep my muddy feet out of the beige carpet mats (I got a beige leather interior).

Delivery from the dealer was spot on and they made up for some of the stuff ups they made since September. The car seemed to have all the bits and pieces in place and there were no concerns when I did my inspection.

I do have a question for other MY08 owners who may have got the CD changer. Does your changer play MP3 audio? mine doesn't and I am sure I have read on this site somewhere MY08 models have a changer that plays MP3. if someone could let me know I would appreciate it.

I will post my pics up here when the sun comes out and I can take some good ones outside.

But for Now I am smiling ear to ear owning a Jetta 2.0 TFSi, Platinum Grey, Beige Leather interior, SatNav + Changer, Sunroof, 17" Classixs

Awesome!!!! Can't wait to meet some of you guys on the next cruise whenever that comes by.

thats where you read it but i dont know if "in dash" means that the changer doesnt have it? is the changer in the centre console or in the dash?

Thanks Mischa, my changer is in the centre console underneath the arm rest.

Hey Thomas...great to hear you've got your car and you're enjoying it! I didn't get to take mine for much of a drive today (the weather in Sydney today has been poor to say the least!) but had a little 'fun' on some quiet streets...oh so much POWER!!!

About the MP3, I think the quote you were referring to was the in dash 6 CD changer...not the centre console one...I didn't get Sat Nav so have the standard in dash CD player, and it does play MP3's...

Can't wait for a sunny day to take pics and take it for a long drive!
