This broker just will not communicate. I don't know my chassis or vin number. I ended up contacting the dealer he has organised the car through myself last week to find that my car arrived into Patricks PK 7.1.2008.

I beleive it should be close but cannot even get my finance sorted(allow 3-4days) as I don't have enough details on the car! AAAAArrrrggghhhh.

Let me just say that his performance in the next few days is being monitored by our General Manager and if things do not improve, it will be the last one he gets for us!!!!!!

I am on holidays next week and REALLY want my NEW GTI.

My anticipation is fast becoming FRUSTRATION!
Guess I may have to learn some patience????

I hear ya! I think the biggest frustration is the lack of communication...I've had to chase my dealer all the way to find out the delivery date.... How hard is it to have someone call you and let you know where your car is and when you'll get it!

Congrats to GTI Syd and good luck to those waiting to pick up their new babies on Friday-Sunday. I look forward to hearing your 1st impressions....

Can you guys who have got / are getting your cars let me know what day your car was actually complianced? What date did they stamp on it? As I am having some serious complications with my dealer / car broker combination.

They have now informed me that my GTI that was unloaded on the 7th Jan (Like you guys) won't be ready for at least a week -maybe two!!!! They have stated that the car has not even been delivered to autocare for compliancing yet? Surely there was not more than one shipment of VWs in PK on the same day?????

OK? so here is the strange part... They have two new GTI's arriving into the lot today! But of course??? they are not from my shipment????? I have had coments like - "Maybe your mates in Sydney (you guys) have cars from a different shipment"

I have been unable to get any chassis/vin numbers as the it is "Against the policy of the dealer" Did you guys all get numbers?

I am buying my car at National fleet pricng and am starting to wonder if they haven't sold my car to someone else (at full price) knowing they can get away with it because I have no evidence to prove otherwise.

I am going to go to the dealer direct tomorrow and check out their two new golfs to see when they were complianced. If I know what dates are on your new cars It will give me a little more information to push my case!

Any help is appreciated - Thanks.

                  I got it!

Hooray! I picked it up this arvo...I'll post pics soon.

One minor stuff up by the dealership, I asked for Euro plates and they gave me the small white ones...so I now have to go and swap them over! But other than that all good.

I already love this car...it feels so good to drive, so solid, I can't believe it's a 'hatchback'! The steering feels so sure, and the power is steady and strong. I already love the auto lights, and auto windscreen wipers.

The ride was a little stiffer than I expected, driving it home along Parramatta Rd, you certainly notice the bumps...but it's not so hard that it annoys.

The little things I didn't know about are cool...the bottle opener, that placed sideways makes the tray a cup holder, the holding down of the open key to open all windows at once on a hot day, and the hooks in the boot for shopping etc...

I drove it so gingerly on the way home...and will no doubt do so for a little while...but can't wait to take it for a decent drive...

Anyway...I can now say I'm a Golf GTI Owner!

I'd have to agree with your suspicions. If they have nothing to hide they would give you the VIN of "your" car. They know that would enable you to track it and find out if they are selling it to someone else (who is presumably able to apply more leverage than you). Was it National Fleet Pricing who told you it was "Against the policy of the dealer" or the supplying dealer themselves ?

Either way I would tell them you believe they have sold your car to someone else, and you want the VIN so you can find out for yourself what is going on. If they won't that pretty well confirms that they (or the dealer, or both) are up to some kind of skulduggery. Keep pestering until you get an answer you believe, if you don't annoy them they will think what they are doing is acceptable.

Just call up as someone from national fleet pricing and say that you just want to double check the vehicle details.

                            Hi mate,

Just a quick one. My car was unloaded on 20th December 2007 and I am getting my car on Saturday from the stealer. Was supposed to be today but they needed one more day.

Ie. my car wasn't on the Jan 7 Shipment.

Hope this helps. I TOTALLY understand your frustration.

I'm also picking mine up today

I ordered black Euro plates as well GTI_SYD, so given our cars came from the same dealer, I hope they didn't forget to put them on my car as well.

Good luck to everyone else picking up their cars over the next few days. I've been waiting so long - finally glad today has arrived
