  • New R32 Wheels

Just saw an R32 up close with the new wheels (MY08 compared to MY07)....what the hell are VW thinking putting wheels like that on the flagship Golf???

They seem to defy logic and appear to be 16 inch when they are actually 18 inch, I personally liked the previous wheels, these ones seem to just tame it down to another level....anyone else think this, or is it just me?

I think the design of the wheel is ok. Just a bit boring for the R32. But then I always thought the old wheels were pretty disgusting. So yeah. its just bad to bad in my book!

I've seen both side by side at the dealership and it's no contest imo - it's the new wheels by a country mile! I think the previous wheels look pretty ordinary on a Golf, and would be more suited to the Jetta or Passat, not the hero model of the sporty Golf range.

I don't think the new wheels are spectacular by any means, just that they are a huge improvement over the previous ones. Photos probably don't do the new wheels justice either, but they look great in the 'flesh'.

I'm not so keen on the new wheels. Photos just don't do them justice either. I know a guy who ordered an 08 model but requested the 07 wheels.

There's a Jetta in my street who has the 08 wheels and they look pretty good close up. But I agree that they're a bit plain for the flagship Golf.

I didn't really rate either wheel at first.

But after a bit of time to reflect, I reckon the MY08 wheel is better than the previous version.

I like the new wheels better, and that's specifically why i waited for the MY08. I really disliked the older style. The new style with center caps removed like this:

                  look absolutely hawt.
