'07 R32 wheels kill '08's. The new ones look tiny in the flesh.
Matter of taste mate. I've got an 08 R32, and I'm very glad that I've got the new wheels. I was never very keen on the old ones, and was happy about the change. Way easier to clean, and they don't look fussy. But then I like understated, and consider the vast majority of the aftermarket wheels to be somewhere between crass and bling.

14 spokes, 3 faces per spoke, plus the 14 parts of the rim, plus big enough holes to see the inner part of the rim as well... wheel trims sound OK at times!
Still, they look nice - just a bit of a bitch to keep clean - at least they're beautifully smooth & well finished. In fact I used to look at last year's R32s and think "Thank chr*st the GT didn't come with those" (sorry Rguys

Found what I'm looking for...wheel caps for the 08 Omanyt wheels.
Should be making a trip down to Barloworld to grab some this weekend, getting rid of the poxy plastic crap the car comes with. Makes a big difference to the look of the wheel.
Apparently they come off the Taureg and fit perfectly. Will keep you all posted.
My MY08 isn't here yet (only 4 weeks to go!) but before signing I tried ordering the 07 (Zolder) wheels as I prefer them but was told it wasn't possible. I really pushed them for the Zolders and said it was a "dealbreaker" so the dealer enquired with the Mothership in Germany. After enquiries he said that as the production has stopped for the MY 07 R32 (with Zolder wheels), VW couldn't accomodate the request for an MY08 with Zolder wheels and it wasn't as "simple" as going to the spares cupboard and grabbing 4 of the Zolders in place of the '08 (personally, I reckon that's crap but anyway...). It was suggested that the only way to get them was to buy as spares which the dealer said they would do at cost price ($620 a corner). I then offered the dealer a straight swap for the '08 wheels pre-delivery but they weren't interested. So, an MY08 with MY08 wheels it is.
I can see why it's a pain to clean the Zolders, but where's the problem if you're using a high pressure cleaner?

Hwy VW Bris were happy to look at keeping a set of zolders aside for me if I wanted them on my 08 model. They had already done it for another guy getting an 08 too! If the dealer really wants to make it happen they can.
I'm inclined to agree with you, and I had a number of discussions and a ton of emails to them about it. The problem is that they've no difficulty selling the R32 (and I did get a good deal on the price) so they can just as easily sell their limited numbers to someone else who's not going to give them grief over the wheel. I had to make a call on it at the end of the day and it was more important to me to at least get an R32 than lose it over the wheels.

I've also got a set of the 07 Zolder wheels for sale (as new), just replaced them with a set of OZ Ultraleggeras. Have a look in the classified section.
Personally I like the style of the 07s (good link back to the style of the MK IV Aristos) but I wanted the unsprung weight reduction.
