  • Wanted: A HELPFUL VW Dealer (spare parts)

Can anyone recommend a VW (spare parts) person who actually "gives a ****" !!!

Had a very disappointing experience with my local VW spare parts guy, not interested unless I had a VIN number, lazy bastard !!!

Trying to price some genuine projector fogs.

PM or text me if you can point me in the right direction 0417 040 401

    Thanks lads,
    Alan.

What is the problem with giving him a VIN? It ensures the parts you get quoted on will fit your car ..... if it is not stock on your car maybe ask around and get a VIN that will work for him.

I've found Austral's spare parts (small operation really) guys to be very helpful and friendly the last few weeks. Picked up a number of genuine VW parts for less than non-genuine parts at Repco/Supercheap!

Buy your own ETKA off ebay then just get them to order the parts. Your problem if the part number is wrong though.

Too many variations within models to try and order parts without a VIN.

Not worth the headaches if the parts are wrong, or the spart parts interpreter can't find it in the catalogue.

Give them the VIN from the same car built at the same time, or just change the last 5 digits which is the unique ID

            Thanks,

Perhaps I took the guy the wrong way, he just didn't seem terribly interested.

THe VIN is not a problem, but all that would give me is the same as what I already have, plus he said there wasn't a listing for a projector version of the fogs and we know some early mk5 GTI's were fitted with them.

Anyway no biggie, I've got the correct part numbers now so I'll retry tomorrow.
