Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled
After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.
Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before.
We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

done a little bit or research:
Michelin Pilot Sport doesn't have 225/35/19. they have 235/35/19 which has a load rating of 87.
Bridgestone RE050A has 225/35/19 but with a loading of 88:
the smallest 19s Goodyear GSD3 is 245/35/19 with a loading of 93, but will it rub?
Pirelli has 3 tyres with the size of 225/35/19 but the max loading is only 88:

at 235/35/19 4 tyres have a rating of 91

with Continental:
CSC3 has 225/35/19 but with a rating of 88;
235/35/19 has rating of 91:
OEM CSC2 has 225/35/19 at 88 as well
while 235/35/19 XL has 91:
Yokohama has Advan Sport at 235/35/19 at 91. 225 only goes to 18s.
so only Pirelli offers the right tyres of 225/35/19, otherwise you have to go to 235/35/19 to be legal.Last edited by Nardi330; 28-12-2007, 01:52 PM.

Sorry i made a mistake with my tyre size (now corrected). it is 235/35/19. Must have been typing to fast.
Is it true that insurance companies want pay out if your tires have been imported from overseas. Tyres locally have an inscription in them or something of the sort. This is what i have heard but can someone put it straight for me please.Last edited by 4potscreamer; 28-12-2007, 03:59 PM.Of course it's not going to work if you use rusty bullets!

I had imported tyres, they got replaced so thats odd with that one! ??
uomo, regretting asking now? lol.
go for what you want, what you like regardless of what anyone else thinks! in the end its your ride! theres plenty of wheel/tyre packages around so im sure you'll be able to find something you like as the mk5 wheel pcd is very easily found as its the same as the audi's basically. What’s behind you doesn’t matter..
