Mind linking me to a couple of sources that prove this? I've seen a couple of pictures, but it's usually only happened after stupid driving. I'd love to know more though.

I've had some chats with Department of transport guys and police in the past and for them to pull you over and give you that sort of fisting it is because you were doing something which brought attention to yourself.
I have a similar issue in regards to wheels. I'd like to get some new wheels to freshen up my Mk5 GTI. But I am a wheel snob and tight arse so I will only fit original products or genuine including OE VW/Audi/Skoda wheels rather than imitation. But the other thing is I do not want more than 17" rims as I do not want less tyre between the rim and the road. So I am considering having the detroits resurfaced. Not black as everyone does but rather a darker silver without a bright metallic fleck as silver wheels on a silver car can get weird. Like the colour of the Jeep rubicon alloy wheels, silver but deeper almost gunmetal.
Anyone have any experience installing the Shark Fin Antenna? Seems like a simple install, but the last thing I need is to cop an airbag in the face.
Any expertise would be appreciated.
Unless your Golf has an airbag in the roof above the back seats - don't know how that's possible haha.
I've done it - piece of piss, in the Polo it's just pulling the roof lining down enough to snip the wire to the original antenna and unplug it - screw the dummy fin it and then fit a receiver on your dash, behind your RVM and connect it to your head-unit. You could obviously get a working shark fin, but it's more expensive than buying a dummy + receiver and more work.

It's not easy for an antenna swap - because you physically have to get underneath the antenna by messing with the roof lining. But yeah it's still an easy mod.
