Considering you are always complaining about mods, rules, Police etc. Why would you do such a silly thing and buy fake wheels. Have you not seen all the horror stories of fakes breaking, cracking and killing people.

I think what Stu and everyone else are trying to say is - you obviously care about the aesthetics of your car, wheels play one of the biggest parts in that and to get the nicest wheels (that aren't going to crack, like Woody mentioned) then you're going to have to invest.

Like a lot of members on this forum, I've got heaps of wheels, a lot of them are the only sets in Australia - all genuine and they add up to the value of my car easy. You can't go tight on wheels man, not in the Dub game anyways!

Hey mate stiff there with the police, is poke to a guy today thats from highway patrol about gauges (he was a really nice guy bumped into him when getting some lunch on my way to tafe) I simply asked what is and isn't illegal as for placement of gauges he said the main thing that they look at is whether in the case of an accident they could cause damage... Eg sharp close to airbags.
But one of the things he said was the biggest thing is it it looks highly aftermarket they are going to want to look closer to everything else.
I asked him about the offset 3 gauge pods in the small storage space (for most golfs it another vent) above the radio/Center console..
He said that it would be fine aslong as there is no sharp points and it isn't very high to have flashing lights that can distract you.

I followed this by asking about vent pods and he said there is no issue aslong as its not sharp and doesn't flash... So if they try it again quote this officer (can't remember his name but he's from the Moorabbin police station.
