  • Very cranky...

I'm overseas at the moment, and just talking to the missus and she's managed to cut a corner and 'curbed' about 8 inches of the left front rim of the R32. 6 weeks and 3000 kms old. I'm very much biting my tongue right now. So she can drive the Hilux from now on.

Anyway, does anyone have someone they would recommend for this sort of repair in Melbourne.

Hmmm ... I've got a wife like that. Hard luck, Mate. (God! It's a good thing she doesn't have my password for this site.)

I'd be checking the left rear rim as well. Unless she stopped before it hit I'd expect the rear to have hit as well (unless the damage actually happened while she was parallel parking )

Yeh. I suspect she's done way more damage that she thinks. In which case the R32 is hers. And I'll drive the Hilux.

        I don't like damaged goods.

Ouch,....This is why i never let my missus drive my VXII Clubsport.
I was once with her in her peugoet when she cut a corner and touched the curb.

To the car or to her?

                Reset her brain. :p

Spacially challenged. It's a well documented fact ... women can judge the shoe size of another woman at twenty paces, but put them in a vehicle and they've got no idea of the cars' dimensions.

hehehe that last comment was pretty funny

the OP comment was just painful - am feeling for you!

My ex (who I am still mates with) reversed my previous car into bollards whilst parallel parking in St Kilda two or so years ago.

Had always told me that they had it parked in a shopping centre carpark and someone else must have caused the damage.

After we had already broken up, and over a few drinks......I was told that my ex did in fact cause the bloody damage! Turns out it was as a result of perving on someone nearby!

                    Grrrrr

i only let males with a good driving record drive my car. most people cant drive it properly, its too responsive. I drove an R32 GTR the other day (it did 12.5s 1/4 mile) and i was pressing the pedal asif i was in the golf. the was going slow. Thats why women are not allowed in the driver's seat

Well, I've seen some pictures of it now. I don't think she actually hit the kerb at all...I'll have to look at the spot when I get home.

In any event the wheel has picked up a few marks. I think I might buy a new one anyway; a spare won't go astray. On the other hand, the tyre is buggered. It's taken a about a 150mm strip out of the side of the tyre. Still holding pressure ok, but I wouldn't be prepared to use it outside the suburbs.

I wonder if VW actually have any of the wheels in stock? Same question re the Dunlops too I guess.
