This would be interesting to know however i have read that the DSG is rated to a maximum torque of 360nm.
The 2.0 TDI 125kw already puts out 350nm therefore any chipping would take the torque over the 360nm limit.
The 'chips' that are available for the DSG GT Sport TDI seem to limit torque to 380nm, so it would seem that the DSG can handle 380nm. However, the lucky 6 speed manual owners will get around 430 nm through chipping!

Who is quoting that much more torque ? 430Nm in a golf sized vehicle sounds VERY interesting indeed. I know 400Nm in my Transporter van is fun, so more torque in a lighter vehicle would have to be even better.

My GTI has done about 85,000 km with APR tune which allegedly has over 400nm of torque, no ill effects yet.

DSG gearboxes feed back a torque control signal to the engine (ie - its a twist measurement of the shaft running through) - with proper software you can control this.
if you use a "diesel inteceptor" type box - ie: a box that pliugs into the wiring harness, this signal can not be truly controlled as the box tricks the ECU fuel pressure sensor into supplying more fuel. The boxes do work, but only by crudely altering the fuel signal (they can't raise requested & actual boost etc) - the boxes worked well on old landrovers & landcruisers, TDI technology has come a fair way since then!
Nothing but praise for the APR software, those engineers obviously know their stuff.
Have heard APR software is ok.. but looking at DP chip seems simpler to remove for servicing etc and no actual changes done to factory ECU settings. Quoted power figures for DP chip as follows: 125kw upto 143kw.. Torque 350Nm upto 405Nm DPchip also give you a 5yr warranty on engine, ECU and drive train. The figures quoted by other software performance establishments are very similar if not exactly the same I think from memory the ottinger upgrade went to 143KW & 425Nm of torque. For myself I think I'll be going with the DP chip option when time comes.

A lot of people freak about getting your car serviced with a tuned ECU or something similar...im telling you....VW servicing centres dont care I know people who have had all kinds of directly related warranty work done with no problems at all.
The Warranty from the DP chip does sound like a really good piece of mind, but how do they give you 5 Year Warranty when a standard VW warranty is 3 years? Or am i misunderstanding?

I'd be getting that in writing before I relied on it. And I'd be wanting it in writing from VWA who would be the ones actually footing the bill for warranty work, not the dealer who simply claims $$$ from VWA for the work and parts.
It would be very tempting (and sensible) for VWA to say something like:
"We are very sorry Mr Angryman, it has come to our attention that your car has had an ECU tune, this tune increased boost, this increased boost contributed to your turbo failure, so we ain't gonna pay"

He came from England and chipped the VW racing team over there.
His details are on the site. At the WA VW Show he said the biggest effect is on the 2.0 TDi motor... some 20% increase in torque. I grabbed some fliers and I also saw JansJetta talking to him.
He does the change then you drive it for a week. If you like it you pay, if not then he changes it back.
