Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Most likely to do with the power output of the Xenons and the possibility the cover could melt (or worse).

If it has an engine or heartbeat it's going to cost you.

I was of the understanding that xenons by law (Australian Design Rule 79 or something close) required washers. In the handbook and last years brochure it shows the washers. So if they do have washers the car bra would interfere with there operations. Possibly also interfered with by headlight protectors.

May be someone with xenons could confirm for you? Mine just halogens that I wish could throw more light!

      Cheers,

      Neil.

Xenons actually produce less heat than a halogen light to the best of my knowledge and have washers yes.
But if the lense has a protector on it whats wrong with washing the protector?

HEre is a picture of my friend Black GTI, he has Xenons and a Bra and as you can see there is a hold in the bra for the spray to come out.
And no the plastic hasn't melted to the head lights.

You can still wash and wax your car with a clearbra on. I've fitted it to my last 3 cars and wouldn't got without it. It looks and works so much better than an ugly and inconvenient bra.

                Here's where I got mine.

Are car bras safe for the car? Do they cause more damage than protection? Thinking about getting one for long drives.

Here are some pics of the Ozicozi work.
This is after the film was added.
I have added small markers to 2 images to show the edge of the film. You can only see it at certain angles. I think it is an excellent job. They were working on a 430 Ferrari, a Maserati and my Golf at the time.

                        Can you spot the edge?
