I know this question has been asked 100 million times before but i cant seem to find a clear explanation
. I have a 2008 Jetta with a RCD300 head unit. It has a spot in the centre console which is blocked off where the AUX input could be put. I went to the VW spare parts place and the man there told me that it could possibly be hooked up given that in 2008 it was a factory option. He sold me the AUX input plug which sits in the centre console for $25 but said he couldn't guarantee there would be a cable in the loom that would connect to the input.
Anyway i went home and pulled off the centre console but as far as i could see there wasn't a wire that would connect to the input. The blocked off hole in the centre console however was a perfect fit for the AUX input so i assume, somehow, it is possible to hook it up.
I'm Just wondering if anyone can give me the direction to enable me to connect up this AUX input up to my head unit.
I suspect that perhaps it is only the RCD310 head unit that will allow an AUX connection - hopefully i am wrong.
