So there is some conjecture over the different torque bushes out there on the market, here is an unbiased opinion of the 2 that I have tried in my TDI, the APR and Neuspeed models.
Removal:
Most people will not have to do this, but in short they are both a pain to remove without a hoist. The APR version is easier to remove as it is a little more squat, I damaged the Neuspeed one on removal as I was cramped for space and there are some tim areas.
Again these are designed to be inserted, not removed!
Components:
Both have all components and instructions provided.
The APR version is squat an has more contact area over the lesser distance that it is inserted against the original mounting that we are inserting into.
The Neuspeed penetrates deeper into the original mount, but the 2 little prongs are a bit flimsy and I am assuming move inside the original mount.
Red = Neuspeed
Blue = APR

Installation :
Same.
Results: Test car, 2.0 TDI Sportline
First the Neuspeed. I found that this insert removed the most tramping, however was responsible for increased vibration. The insert also increased the sensation of turn in and braking seemed more immediate.
Second the APR which was in my opinion for the TDI, a better suit. All around softer, having less vibration and shudder at lower revs - however, was not providing as good sensation when driving as the Neuspeed.
Summary:
I think that the TDI has too much vibration for the Neuspeed in the everyday use. I think that it would be better in a petrol engine that is smoother. I feel that the APR is a good option for TDI and people reluctant to spend weekends rattle finding!
Thanks to Ian @ Rennenhaus for the opportunity to test both items.
