  • Proud new owner - My08 GT Sport 1.4 TSI

    Evening folks

I've just joined your forum. Firstly thanks to all that contribute, you were a great source of info leading up to my purchase, which is a United Grey MY08 Golf GT Sport 1.4 TSI. I picked it up last Wednesday and it has been an absolute dream for the last week. It brings a smile to my face every morning I open the garage. In the coming days or so I plan to provide you all with some feedback on my first-impressions, which so far have been fantastic.

By the way, in case you don't recognise the pic in the signature below, it is in fact Jesse James. I have a tendency to name my cars based on the characters I feel they personify. Jesse James was described to be good-natured but quick-tempered. I'm certain GT owners and those that have test-driven them will agree with this description.

nice! congrats! welcome to the forum. what specs did you get (transmission, options etc) ?

some pictures are definitely in order

oh and might want to update your location so people can give advice relevant to where you live... if it happens to be in sydney, hit up the cruise thats coming up (check cruise section). might even have my gt sport by then

anyway enjoy the car and the vw scene, it wont disappoint you one bit

      Well done & welcome!
Yup, we need to know all the stuff/specs.
UG's a nice colour - it's real easy to keep clean. My previous ride was a SSS in a similar colour and it never really ever looked dirty, but after a clean looks spekky. Had I not already had that colour, I'd have probably gone for the same as you.

Next nice day - clean the baby and post us some pics...

          Welcome to the forum MY08GT.

A colleague of mine just purchased the GT with the 2.0 TDI (125 Kw) and DSG. Boy, that thing has some torque -- head-snapping in Sport setting if you nail it
