I have come from a piece of sh*t 2004 SAAB 9-3. It was so bad that the original one was replaced as a lemon! Sunroof stuck, electrical gremlins, engine stalling (it was an auto!), stuttering, shocking suspension etc. They look great...but they drive like sh*t. Biggest mistake ever.

Meanwhile, my partner (in that space) has had 2 wrx's and at the moment has a 3MPS.

Can't explain just how annoying it was driving the 9-3 after the rexies or MPS.....

I won't mention the BUCKET LOAD of cash i lost on the heap as well!

I SERIOUSLY can't wait to get this thing....
    Nice choice mate.
Me to waiting for TregV6Tdi- mid December. I'm thinking to go to the dealer once a week and just take Treg for test drive.
Treg is replacing Jeep which was also the biggest mistake to buy-never, ever in my life another Chrysler car again.

I too have just ordered my R32. What sort of delivery time have you been quoted. I have been told mid March. Bit of a bummer but hey!

My current car is a WRX and I will never again have a car without AWD.

Quoted delivery of March/April as well. I traded in my car but have been told by a few people that under the standard contract the dealer is likely to try and re-negotiate the trade-in price when my car arrives. Not so happy about this.

i only had to wait 4 days.... and i thought that sucked !! ..

Im surprised to hear about the saab being a lemon.. I was in melbourne early 05 and had a new 93 turbo soft top for 4 days... Avis.. not bad... but i thought the car was quite good..(for the 4 days i had it).... sorry to hear your experience with a 93 was so bad.....
You will love the R ..... no question....
are you planning any mods for the car ?.. The stock R does understeer when pushed hard.... and from watching the handling difference...i was behind another R32'er with the haldex controller upgrade fitted... & was glad that i put in order a few weeks back.....(controller shifts more torque to the rear, eliminating understeer).... seeing the rear bite for traction before the front did the same was quite impressive.... and i could see the extra "push" he was getting....
i have a short shifter going in tommorow.....Haldex controller should be in my hands soon... then ill see..., i want to do something with my intake but not sure how far to go with it.... may just get a replacement filter to change with the stock....? we'll see i spose..

          mario.
          G'day Mario,

Sounds like you like playing with your cars! hehe

I am going to keep my R32 pretty stock as I think its a pretty good package as it is. I will take it for squirts every now and then but pretty much for 100 percent of my driving, the stock setup is acceptable..if ya know what i mean.

Also don't know how insurance etc. would be setup. Plus I will be leasing the car too so thats another reason....anyway - ur car sounds like its gonna be amazing - would be awesome to chq itout when you have it all complete.

Saab used to be good. They were taken over by GM in the mid 90's and they have totally farked the brand up. Had the first one for 9 months and EVERYTHING went wrong with it. They wouldnt replace it so i threatened to hand my service notes to every buyer entering their dealership and they ended up giving me a new one. Had that one for 3 years and it was....ok....but i don't really like FWD cars and don't really intend on ever having one again. 4x4 all the way baby!!!

I can't wait to get this thing...only 2 more months!

            G'day mate,

I had a similar wait too. Ordered mid August and it's ready mid-late December.

Wait is killing me - only two more months!

Going to wait until January 2nd to pick it up so that I can have it registered as a 2008. Just sold my old car on carsales and that one was a Dec2004 registered car. I sell my car at the end of each lease (3 years) and think its worth waiting a few extra weeks for delivery for abit of extra dosh at the end of the 3 years. Did that make sense? hehe

              Hi mate,

Great car you have there too mate.

A mate of mine (neighbour) is the General Manager at Brighton Jeep/Chrysler. He has told me a few horror reliability stories. Also told me of a guy that paid over 70k for a Grand Cherokee and traded it in for only 16500 3 years later!!!

              Scary!

I guess all cars make a loss...but still!

Yeah, usually we keep our cars a bit longer than 3 years, so if the resale value is not good and the car is 10 Years old or older it doesn't matter as much.
But Jeep resale value is really bad.
                Here is why:
Too many recalls, reliability issues and dealers not able to repair the car properly. It appears to me that many dealers have difficulty with understanding what does it mean "to repair properly". To me it means to bring the subject to its original condition. Common sense is telling me that legal terminology could be the same.
How ever here is story of our Jeep.
We bought KJ Cherokee diesel with 120kw/400Nm torque it was flying up to any hill with ease. After 2 years Daimler Chrysler issued customer satisfaction recall to replace torque converter and reprogram transmission and engine controller and everything was going south with our Jeep. The road up the hill where the car could drive at any speed you like, like it was flat road now doesn’t go faster than 90km/100. We have four cars and Jeep had to go to the dealer more times than other three all together. Still not fixed properly - they (Daimler Chrysler) say everything is normal.

Chrysler Jeep will not see me in their showroom any more and my kids will remember that bitter experience for long time too.

                Cheers
