As previously posted, my Jetta TFSI has an APR tune and has done a 14.46 @ 96.67mph down the quarter... pretty impressive.
A few months back I got the Carbonio CAI. I didn't do another quarter mile run but in all honesty it seemed to make no difference (beyond looking damned cool!).
So I recently decided to go with the APR Downpipe on my Jetta TFSI (APR have 10% off at the moment so I saved a few dollars). Given the regular family duties of the Jetta I didn't want extra noise, so the full TBE wasn't an option (most reports are that the full TBE doesn't give much of a gain over the DP anyway). The extra power was immediately obvious, particularly in the top end, and the car seems to rev much faster. A very small increase in noise during normal driving (a bit more mechanical) and at WOT you can hear the turbo a lot more.
Last night I went back to Willowbank to see what she would do down the quarter. After struggling for traction on the first few runs and only doing 14.5s I then got a good run in :
14.214 @ 99.47mph
The run was done with over half a tank of fuel, no weight saving measures (the spare tire wasn't removed), normal tyre pressure (35psi) and even with the baby capsule in back
i.e. in road trim. The slip reports 16 degrees but the Jetta was reporting 22 degrees.
APR Downpipe = $1079.10 (with 10% discount)
Install = $130
APR Re-map to match DP = free (as car already had an APR tune)
Big grin = priceless.
