He didnt seem to like it much did he? its a pity that VW didnt sort the suspension for its top gear debut.

it was only a touch faster around the track than the r32

      Hmmmm - it's a shame - but I'd still have it!

He would be the last person I would let drive any VW.
Did'nt he just have another accident recently after his big one.???

This definately is not a repost ... lol.

Shame to build a car that doesn;t turn with all that power.

Are you all reading my mind, I've just finished watching the episode and was going to post about it. I think it's great that the first car they drive this season is a VW.

I've got the whole episode if anyone has web-hosting space, I can send it to them.
I'm not Bossy!!! I just know whats best for everyone.

I don't think it really matters that it had a few handling woes. It was, after all, only an engineering exercise, and as Jeremy says, it's unusual for them to be even drivable.

as we all know, it's a concept car that suprisingly anough actually drives! the whole straight line thing is awsome enough!! with a bit more front end grip, we could have ourselvs a world champion drift car!

I guess you mean Richard Hammond, not Jeremy.

Anyway, he had a big one (tyre failure was the cause) and I gather there was a minor one recently, but it occurred in a car race, so I don't think that really counts.

The W12 was put together in 8 weeks. Be thankful that it was available to drive at all. And given the rapid build time, of course there was going to be driveability/handling issues.

Oh, I don't know. He seems to be the only motoring journo who's willing to say that something is actually a bad car.

And it was his opinion that got me started looking at VWs at all. He was extremely complementary towards both the Mk V GTI and the R32.

Verry wise words! If the car was given a decent amount of time for R&D, then it could potentially be an awesome car. I hope they sink some more time and money into it.
