  • Bi xenon lights

I've never actually seen these in action and understandably it's not dark enough when I go to visit a dealership to have them on. Anyone have a pic with theirs on at night.

Also any thoughts on our lights (brightness, whiteness etc) I know my mates MP6's xenons are very good looking

I hear that you get flashed a lot as people do not recognise real xenons as factory standard from the riced up blue lights that others try to pass off as proper xenons.

I wonder how they justify their vehicle being classified as being roadworthy and therefore insurable if they do not have either autolevelling or headlight washers for their "HID" lights installed aftermarket.

Doesn't bi-xenon mean that the high beams are xenons as well as low beams? I haven't seen that on a VW yet.
I never got fashed coz of xenons, i love them and im not buying a car without them anymore

With the help of Mister Duck last night, I took a couple of shots of Bi-xenons vs Halogens. I have the standard bulbs (4300k?) in my bi-xenons and Mister Duck has the Arctic Blue halogen bulbs. Are the bi-xenons worth $2k more? you decide. 1st pic - Bi-xenons 2nd pic - Halogens 3rd pic -...

                  here's a comparison of Bi-xenons vs Halogens.

when you put your high beams on you can hear shutter open in the main beam. So you get extra xenon light. So i guess it depends on how you define bi-xenon. I believe when you just "flash" your high beam by pulling the stalk forward then you just get the halogen light as xenons take too long to warm up to be used for flashing.

I was in the same boat. You could always ask the dealer for a loan over-night - for that reason. I love the light colour - its just a plain, cool white that looks classy, not bluish or purple. But that's a personal thing.

There is only 1 Xenon lamp (on each side), and a shutter moves to achieve the high beam. Halogens are also provided for the quick flash (pull stalk towards driver). But (in Oz at least) they also come on with the permanent high-beam as well (push stalk away).

There are a few threads about them here, including some links as to how to adjust them if you are getting "flashed" for using "high-beam". Do a search.

I wouldn't ever get another car without them.

im actually surprised at how blue the beam is on the mk5 gti xenons. But ive never driven another car with them though.

I have the Bi-Xenon's too... I love them but now I drive with my trigger finger on the indicator lever because so many people have high beamed me... now i sit in waiting and when they flash me... BAM! I high beam them back and blind the sh*t out of them.

                            Now that is fun.

                              How mature of you.

Have you stopped to think that the glare from your headlights is obviously causing distress to others? Sounds like your lights are out of alignment.
