Well Don, that is what happens when you deal with a-holes and buying a car which is in high demand like to Evoque, they will rape you up the @$$ like this. I actually reckon the sales guy wanted the car for themselves hence the price.
Didn't count on the fact that this guy is a doctor and actually has brains! As well as an accountant (me) who knows the dirty deeds of the motor trade!

Get a good one, drive it and you'll be happy you paid the extra over a regular GTI. Think a Mk5 soul with extra attitude and almost boundless tuning opportunity. You're good for over 400HP out of that engine before you need to open it.
MK6's are definately much more refined, but they lost something in the translation..
I've got both a Mk5 and a Mk6, and I like them for very different reasons. If you want something more outrageous, a Mk5 is the way to go... In my view anyway.
But I'm somewhat biased. My Pirelli is completely nuts.Comment

I reckon the only thing I'd rather have (to this day) is a monstrously worked scirocco R or a worked Golf R. The Mk6 GTI is just too soft for my liking. The Edn35 similarly so.Originally posted by gh172 View Post

I genuinely love the refinement of the Mk6, but it feels too much like a Mk4 for me. Awesome car, but exiting not. The Mk6 we have in the family is better than the Mk5 in so many ways, but something was certainly lost in the engineering. They're not as exciting as the 5's. They've lost that true sporty edge..
All in my opinion fellas, everybody has their own feelings of course...
If I had my time again, I'd do a similar treatment to a Scirocco that I did to my Pirelli. Huge turbo (GT2871R or larger), crazy suspension and great brake package... If it only weren't for that FWD thing.. Damn it all to hell!
That being said I'd rather have a MK6 GTI than just about any other new car under 100k out there, other than the Scirocco R or the Golf R that is...Comment

Well put Kryten, I share your sentiments. Test drove the Scirocco R last week and I feel it is just about good enough to make me want to switch from my relli to one. But VW have definately cheapened the interior of the Scirocco, the quality of the MkV plastics is definately better than the mkVI and Scirocco (more hard plastics vs soft rubber type).Originally posted by kryten2001 View PostComment

If anyone is looking, I was out at Barloworld in Glen Waverly in VIC last Sat and they had a Pirelli in Graphite blue with low km's, its an 09 DSG. Pretty much standard aside from that, nice condition, few gutter scratches on the wheels, think they were asking about 35k on road.Comment

Would be an 08 build ( they all were if I recall, production ended October or November 2008 ), but they trickled in very late 08 and early 09. Mine was complianced 08, but many were complianced 09's.Originally posted by astormsau View Post

I wish I'd kept the email, I actually wrote to VW Oz asking this very question. Yellow was the rarest, something like 60 (12x 5 doors, the rest 3 doors). I don't remember the third colour (Black I'm guessing?) Probably an even distribution between blue and black I'm surmising.
Definitely not 125 of each colour though, as there were 500 in total brought in.

The one at Barloworld had low km's, under 50,000 from memory. It had an 08 October release VIN (I call it MY09) with the 9 in the 10th position.
